Non avevo visto gli aggiornamenti.

Comunque, in mancanza di riscontri, continuo a pensare che non ci sia nulla di vero. Peraltro, 230 mln per il 67% mi sembra la classica offerta che "non si può rifiutare". C'è qualcosa che non torna.

When Brooklyn Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov said he hoped to make the team a championship contender next season, it was fair to wonder what exactly he had learned over the last five years. In an open letter on The Vertical, Prokhorov has answered that question with eight lessons: you can't buy a championship, strategy beats opportunity, culture trumps talent, not everyone is made to play in Brooklyn, something about being successful in other ways while losing, something about fun and hope, something about Americans accepting him and something about admitting mistakes.

In Prokhorov's tenure, the Nets have been bold and opportunistic, but they have spent extravagantly without much regard for long-term team building. When he fired general manager Billy King and coach Lionel Hollins, he said that Brooklyn needed better leadership from those positions and he needed to find people who truly wanted to be in New York City. Much of this letter directly references his talking points from that press conference, and the timing here is obvious.

The Nets reportedly offered their general manager job to San Antonio Spurs assistant GM Sean Marks on Tuesday, and on Wednesday they will be opening their new practice facility. In between now and Thursday's trade deadline, it's possible Brooklyn will make some moves that make the team even worse in the short term while opening up future financial flexibility. At 14-40 and without immediate help coming in draft, the Nets are likely years away from relevance.

This is an interesting first step, but Prokhorov has a long way to go. At least this time he's not talking about contending next season.
