Djordjevic: Lazio is the best choice

Worst kept secret in European football has now been fully revealed. Filip Djordjevic has signed the contract with Serie A club Lazio and will join the club during the summer transfer window. Nantes best scorer will stay with French team until the end of the current season.

Serbian striker Filip Djordjevic is preparing for move to italian Lazio after very good time in France.

Filip, when you decided to quit Nantes and why?

"I felt I needed a new challenge after 6,5 years with the club. We had been negotiating about a contract extension for a long time but during winter I decided to move on after the season ends."

Clubs feel betrayed in a way if a player leaves as a free agent. Do you have the same impression about Nantes?

"Club owners are entrepreneurs and it is a normal thing that they think how to earn money. However, I have very good relationship with Nantes president and his son. I've never experienced any problems. At the end, they wished me luck, congratulate me and told me that it would be strange to start new season without me."

Why Lazio? Though league, especially for forwards. You had offers from France, Germany England...

"Lazio because people from the club showed how much they wanted me. I had financially better offers but I wanted to play in a big league, a big club and show what I can do in such environment.. Then, club guaranteed me playing time, which was the case with Lazio. I did not want to go to the club where I will sit on the bench as a 26 year old player. Then, Lazio fights for European places every season and it match my ambition as well."

Is it true that you singed five year contract?

"No, it is four year deal."

You might play with Miroslav Klose. German player is one of the best forwards in past two decades.

"His contract expires at the end of the season. I really would like him to stay as I would benefit and learn the tricks of trade from one of the greatest forwards in the game."

You think that it is very important to learn the language of the country you are living in. How much you have been learning Italian?

"I am taking Italian lessons for the past four weeks. I try to make my adjustment as smooth as possible. "

Have you talked with some of Serbian players who are playing or used to play in Serie A?

"Nenad Tomović from Fiorentina introduced me to Seria A in depth. Aleksandar Kolarov, former Lazio player explained to me what it's like to play for this club and Adem Ljajić was telling me about the life of an athlete, especially football player, in Rome. "

What was most difficult in France?

"Adjustment period was the most difficult, especially because of two reasons. First, it was tough, phisically demanding League. I arrived at a very young age, still as a teenager. I did not know the language. It was difficult as I was sidelined for eight months because of an injury at the very beginning of my career in France."

And what was the best?

"I am living the best moments in France right now. I am the captain of the team and helped Nates to get back to League 1 where this great club belongs."

Was the game against PSG biggest test of your career?

"PSG is one of the best teams in Europe. It was a big challenge to play against the best center back in the world, Thiago Silva. I'm glad that I realized that I can play against such a strong players on equal terms. I really will remember the France as great part of my career and life. I would not stay 6,5 years here otherwise."

What cross your mind first when you say Italy?

"Calcio, beautiful Rome, great pasta, enjoyable climate...some of things that come up first."

Where you see yourself in a year, and in a five years?

"I would not mind if I am still playing in Italy five years from now. "

If Italy and France cross their paths during World Cup, who you will cheer for?

"I just want a great game with a lots of goals."

Vucinic era più mobile, più creativo, sapeva infilarsi negli spazi per dettare il passaggio (anche per merito degli schemi di Zeman). Djordjevic ha buona tecnica ma è essenzialmente uomo d'area.

Secondo me lo prendiamo a parametro zero come Ederson.

prenderli entrambi sarebbe uno spreco... io credo che la lazio sia obbligata a puntare forte su keita. oggettivamente è molto difficile per le nostre possibilità arrivare ad un giocatore con le potenzialità di keita "gia fatto". quindi conviene costruire la squadra intorno a lui. per questo io ritengo essenziale insistere con le tre punte (per me ideali per keita) e djordjevic va benissimo come caratteristiche. e per questo io spero che le voci di qualche tempo fa su pitroipa (lui o comunque qualcuno con caratteristiche simili perchè non si può fare una stagione con i soli candreva e keita specialmente se lulic va via) abbiano un fondo di verità. perchè confermerebbero che si punta sul tridente. mi dispiace solo per anderson che a quel punto sarebbe giusto mandare a giocare da qualche parte.

Ripropongo le mie perplessità contingenti su un tridente Keita-Djordjevic-Candreva.

Sì, ma dobbiamo addestrare almeno uno tra Candreva e Keita a seguire l'azione altrimenti anche Djordjevic rischia di farsi stritolare dalle diverse avversarie. Un terminale con due ali non funziona, è sterile.
A maggior ragione quando hai centrocampisti che non entrano in area nemmeno se gli prometti una notte con Charlize Theron.
Dovremmo trovare un Thomas Muller in avanti e provare Minala a centrocampo.

nel secondo tempo di domenica io ho visto enormi passi avanti da questo punto di vista. oltre al tridente, biglia e gonzalez erano continamente in proiezione offensiva e attaccavamo con una linea di 5. nell'azione del gol abbiamo addirittura la superiorità numerica in area. su un cross!

rever credo sia in scadenza. non ne sono sicuro, ma se fosse così sarebbe un colpaccio. i nomi che si rincorrono sono il suo e hinteregger (che è piu giovane ma costa parecchio). curiosità, sono entrambi mancini.
